Recently, the Central Solenoid Model Magnet (CSMC), independently developed by Startorus Fusion for spherical tokamaks, has successfully completed fastdischarge testing under a 20 K cryogenic environment. The magnet achieved a peak magnetic field of 10 T, central magnetic field of 7.6 T, operating current of 6350 A, maximum current rampup rate of 40 kA/s, peak voltage of 2850 V, and maximum magneticfield ramp rate of 63 T/s, corresponding to a toroidal loop voltage of 6.75 V. The test results validate the magnet's operational performance under cryogenic, highmagneticfield and fastdischarge conditions, delivering critical validation data for the engineeringoriented R&D of hightemperaturesuperconducting (HTS) magnets for spherical tokamaks.

Key Parameter Comparison of CSMC Magnets

Eastern Superconducting Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (Eastsuper) supplied all REBCO hightemperature superconducting tapes for this magnet project. The successful test further verifies the applicability of Eastsuper's REBCO tapes under complex operating conditions including low temperature, high magnetic field and fast discharge, and provides solid material support for the development and engineering application of HTS magnets.
